Tractive cost guide
Tractive subscription cost UK: what you will actually pay
The Tractive subscription cost UK question usually ends in confusion, because tractive.com has no UK storefront and quotes everything in euros. We run a Tractive DOG 6 on our own dog and pay for the plan out of our own pocket, so this page sets out every current price, what Basic and Premium actually include, the cheapest sensible route for a UK owner, and how to cancel. Every figure below was checked on tractive.com and help.tractive.com on 29 August 2026.
Why Tractive quotes you euros in the UK
Tractive has never opened a UK storefront. The site runs a single /en/ locale and geo-serves prices, and British visitors are shown euros. There is no hidden pound toggle: when you subscribe, your bank converts the euro charge at its own exchange rate, and some UK cards add a non-sterling transaction fee on top. That fee is set by your card issuer, not by Tractive. Two owners on identical plans can pay slightly different amounts each renewal.
The hardware is the one part you can buy in sterling. Tractive's official eBay UK shop listed the DOG 6 at £59 when we checked on 29 August 2026, against €69 on tractive.com, so for most UK buyers the eBay route is both cheaper and cleaner. The subscription itself, however, always goes through Tractive's own billing in euros.
Tractive subscription prices in full (August 2026)
Two plan tiers, Basic and Premium, each cheaper per month the longer you commit. Everything is prepaid in one charge apart from the monthly Basic option. Note the quirk at the top of the table: monthly billing exists only for Basic, and only in selected countries. Premium has no monthly option at all.
| Plan | Term | Per month | Billed as | Indicative £ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | Monthly | €13 | €13 every month | about £11 a month |
| Basic | 1 year | €7 | €84 up front | about £71 |
| Basic | 2 years | €5 | €120 up front | about £102 |
| Premium | 1 year | €8 | €96 up front | about £82 |
| Premium | 2 years | €6 | €144 up front | about £122 |
| Premium | 5 years | €5 | €300 up front | about £255 |
There is no activation fee beyond the plan itself. The 30-day money-back guarantee covers both tracker and subscription on every term, including the long prepaid ones.

The cheapest way to run a Tractive in the UK
The trap is monthly billing. €13 a month feels harmless. But over two years it is €312, roughly £265, for exactly the same service the 2-year Basic plan delivers for €120. Here is what two years of subscription costs by route:
| Route | 2-year subscription total | Indicative £ |
|---|---|---|
| Basic, paid monthly | €312 | about £265 |
| Basic, 1-year plan twice | €168 | about £143 |
| Basic, 2-year plan | €120 | about £102 |
| Premium, 1-year plan twice | €192 | about £163 |
| Premium, 2-year plan | €144 | about £122 |
So the cheapest path is: DOG 6 for £59 in sterling from the official eBay UK shop, then Basic on the 2-year term. That is roughly £161 for the first two years, or about £6.70 a month all in. If you are certain you will still be using the tracker in five years, Premium's 5-year plan matches the €5 monthly rate and throws in the Premium features, but €300 up front is a big bet on a subscription service, especially since Tractive changed hands in May 2026 (it was acquired by Bending Spoons). We would not prepay five years. Two is our comfortable limit.

Running more than one dog
Each Tractive tracker needs its own subscription. There is no multi-pet discount as of 29 August 2026: Tractive's help centre is explicit that every tracker generates its own mobile network costs, so every tracker carries its own plan. Two dogs on the cheapest route means two devices at £59 and two 2-year Basic plans at €120 each, roughly £322 for two years of tracking two dogs.
What you do get is one account for everything. All trackers and plans sit under a single login, and one subscription allows sign-ins on several phones at once, so you and your partner can both watch the same dog at no extra cost. Family sharing, the Premium feature, goes further by letting people outside your account follow your dog live without paying anything themselves.

Cancellation, pauses and refunds
All plans auto-renew, and the rules below are from help.tractive.com, checked 29 August 2026:
- Cancelling: you stop auto-renewal at my.tractive.com in a browser, under Trackers & Subscription Plans. You cannot cancel inside the mobile app. The plan stays fully active until the end of the period you have paid for, then simply does not renew.
- Refunds: the 30-day money-back guarantee covers tracker and subscription on every term. After 30 days there are no partial refunds on prepaid plans, which is the price of the discount, so treat a 2-year plan as spent money the day you buy it.
- Pausing: you can pause a subscription for up to eight months, useful if the tracker is in a drawer over winter. A paused plan must be resumed before it can be cancelled.
- Passing it on: a tracker with its remaining plan can be handed to someone else, and a plan can be transferred to a replacement tracker.
Is the subscription worth it?
At about £4.25 a month on the 2-year Basic plan, Tractive is among the cheapest ways to run a live GPS tracker in the UK, and in our own use the plan has been the least interesting part of the product. It renews, it works, nothing to manage. The fee itself is not padding. The tracker sends every position over the mobile network through a built-in SIM, and we explain that plumbing in does Tractive work without a subscription (short version: it does not, at all).
If any recurring fee is a dealbreaker, do not try to fight Tractive's model. Look instead at our no-subscription dog tracker guide, where devices like PitPat GPS trade a higher one-off price for zero monthly fees. Just do the multi-year sums first. At Tractive's 2-year rate, it takes over three years before a £149 one-off purchase plus a £59-device-and-plan combination cross over, and the honest answer depends on how long you expect the hardware to live.

Questions owners actually ask
How much is Tractive per month in the UK?
Tractive charges UK customers in euros: Basic is €13 monthly, €7 a month on the 1-year plan or €5 a month on the 2-year plan, roughly £4.25 to £11. Premium runs €5 to €8 a month depending on term. Prices checked on tractive.com on 29 August 2026.
Does Tractive Premium have a monthly billing option?
Tractive Premium has no monthly billing: it is sold on 1-year (€8 a month), 2-year (€6) and 5-year (€5) prepaid terms only. Monthly billing exists solely for the Basic plan, in selected countries, at €13 a month. We confirmed this on tractive.com and help.tractive.com on 29 August 2026.
Is there a Tractive multi-pet discount?
Tractive offers no multi-pet discount as of 29 August 2026: each tracker generates its own mobile network costs, so each needs its own subscription plan. You can manage several trackers from one account, and on Premium your family can watch every dog live without paying for extra subscriptions themselves.
Can I cancel a Tractive subscription at any time?
Tractive lets you stop auto-renewal at any time at my.tractive.com, in a browser rather than the mobile app. Your plan then runs to the end of the paid period and does not renew. Within the first 30 days you can return tracker and plan for a full refund. After that, prepaid terms are not partially refunded.
Why does Tractive charge UK buyers in euros?
Tractive has no UK storefront: tractive.com runs a single /en/ site and geo-serves euro prices to British visitors, as of 29 August 2026. Your card converts each charge to pounds at its own rate, sometimes with a non-sterling fee. The hardware is the exception: Tractive's official eBay UK shop sells the DOG 6 for £59 in sterling.
